More Empties....So Tragic

There's nothing I feel more guilty about than looking at the hordes of products of makeup that I purchase with enthusiasm and then never use.  Obviously, trying out new products is fun, but there are always going to be those staples that you keep reaching for!

So, I thought I'd make another video showing some of my empty products and why I love them so much!
Hope you enjoy :)

5 Minute Makeup Using Naked 3 Palette

So I know that a lot of us are rushed for time in the morning and can't apply amazing, fun makeup every day.  Well, you could but that would involve waking up early and at that point you've lost me.

So, in an effort to try some new colors while still doing something very quickly I pulled together a quick look using my Naked 3 palette.  I tried not to use too many colors and used just the basics for contouring, blush and highlighting.  I left the lips very warm nude and set the look with the urban decay primer.

Check it out, what do you think??

I Think This May Be My Favorite Look of All Time....

So I mentioned yesterday in my Mac Haul post that I was OBSESSED with my new Sassy Moss Fluidline.  It's just the most gorgeous green, gold color ever!  It's made to be a liner but I used it all over my lid for an amazing, beautiful pop of color!  I actually wore this look to work and didn't feel like I had too much makeup on or looked like I was headed to the club.  It just was so beautiful, so much fun and so different than my normal look!

I promised I'd make a video showing my look as I mentioned how obsessed with it I was :) I did, so check it out below!

These Are a Few of My Favorite Things: Another Mac Haul :)

I don't know why going into Mac gives me this overwhelming sense of happiness.  It's probably something I should speak to a therapist about, but in the meantime I'll stick to using my powers for good and sharing my knowledge with you.  If you've read my previous posts on eyebrows you know how important they are for shaping and framing your face.  I was never an eyebrow girl myself growing up, I focused on every other makeup there was but felt that doing my eyebrows made me look cheesy.  Obviously now, as an adult I know better.  So, I went into Mac for one little 'Fling' Eyebrow Crayon.  What I came out with was  essentially my saving's worth of their AMAZING new mineral collection!  I purchased 3 eye shadows, 1 blush, 4 lipsticks and 2 glosses.  Check out my video below to see my review on my purchases and let me know what you think!  Have any of you tried these?

They’re Real! Push-Up Liner by Benefit: Save Your Money

I recently on one of my Sephora trips I saw this really cool new eyeliner called “They’re Real! Push-Up Liner” by Benefit.  I was intrigued by the shape of the tip.  It’s angled and looked as though it would be ideal for creating that perfect cat-eye look.  Plus, I’m a big fan of Benefit products in general so I thought at the very least it would delivery the quality I expected.  Sadly though, I was disappointed.  Firstly, you have to twist up the bottom to get the liner to come out.  Anyone who’s ever used a product like this knows you twist and twist until all of a sudden a flood of product comes out and you have way more product on the brush than you know what to do with.  Then, as I used it the product came out very unevenly.  I found it incredibly difficult to get a nice line going all the way across my eye, it looked very broken and spotty and because it was a liquid liner I didn’t want to smudge it out.  The only thing I really liked about it was the angled tip was great for the corner and creating that cat eye.  That part was very easy to do and because the line can be a little thicker there the corner came out very nicely.

Overall, I think this brush is great if you’re just starting out and learning how to use liquid liner.  Because it’s a little thicker you don’t have to be as precise with the line which depending on how large/small your eyes are can be good or bad.  I know for me personally, having incredibly small eyes, if I  put on too much liner it closes my eyes off and makes them look really small.  If you have larger eyes this is a good product because the angled brush helps you get the technique down.

I was pleasantly surprised as well at how little it smudged.  Once it dries it does not move and it really lasts all day.  The price is $24 which is pretty average for a non-drugstore liner.  I really wouldn’t recommend this product due to how hard it is to apply but if you’re really just trying to get the angled look down it may be a good tool for practicing.  For me, I’ll stick with my Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liner.

Sigma Standout Eyes Gel Liner Collection

If you know me you know I am obsessed with Mac.  I probably own everything they have and swear by the majority of their products.  However, I know there are other brands out there that I should be fair to as well so I was really excited when I heard about the Sigma Standout Eyes Gel Liner Collection.  They're comparable to the Mac Fluidline pots which I'm obsessed with and use every time I want a really precise gel liner look.  Gel liner can be trickier to apply than a liquid or a khol pencil but once you get it down it's amazing!

I was really impressed by the consistency of the Sigma Gel Liners.  They went on very smooth, stayed in place all day and were really easy to apply.  Once they set they literally didn't budge.  There's 2 brushes that they offer, one is thinner for more precise lines and the other is thicker for a more smudged look.

They come in 6 different colors, all of which are really pretty, though I particularly like the Unexpected one which is a really pretty olive shade.  The colors are all very similar to the Mac collection and at $14 a pot versus's Mac's $16 you're not saving that much.

It's a nice change if you're looking to branch out and try some new collections, but I think I'll stick with my Mac Fluidline.

Clarisonic Mia Sonic Cleansing System Review- LOVE LOVE LOVE!!

A coworker of mine recently who has bit of a passion we’ll call it for QVC started raving about the Clarisonic.  After a few weeks, her skin which was always nice, all of a sudden started looking absolutely radiant!  It had this amazing glow to it and there were so few imperfections.  Of course I told her how ravishing her skin looked and she told me that it was all due to her Clairsonic regime she’d started.

I think these type of Microdermabrasion machines are perfect for us not rich and famous people to give our skin the TLC it needs and to help ward off any aging or smooth over any imperfections.  It really creates such a smooth finish to your skin which can help get rid of any redness, dryness, oiliness, you name it.  I love using this product before bed after I wipe off all of the grime of the city.  It’s great to in the morning if you want to set  your skin before applying makeup.

The product is sold on QVC for $99 but you can get a payment plan where you pay little payments monthly if that price tag is too much for you.  There are a variety of different brushes they offer, some that come with cleansers, some with oils, some with replaceable heads you name it.  The one I purchased was the Clarisonic Mia Sonic Cleansing System w/ DeepPore Brush Head which I absolutely LOVE!!!  I use it in combination with my Khiels moisturizer and my Estee Lauder Night Repair Serum religiously before bed.  You can also purchase the Clairsonic serum as well though I’ve never tried it.

The product is available at a variety of different stores including Ulta, Sephora and many other online retailers.  If you’re getting older or you’re young and want better skin I absolutely recommend this product!!
